Whereas The Door Where It All Started is a fictional story meant to tell the reader about the probable foundations of the Christian and Jewish Churches, Provision tells the narrative of Raymond Robert Fischer’s actual life–which, perhaps not surprisingly, involves many events that are miraculous.
Fischer starts the tale by discussing the early family being Jewish but hiding the fact because the career paths available discouraged anyone from identifying as Jewish. (Odd considering all the modern ideas about Jewish people running the world) Several events happen to Dr. Fischer even at an early age that border on catastrophe but through seemingly unusual divine intervention are prevented from fulfilling the goal of destroying Fischer’s early sojourn on the planet.
The narrative moves on to Fischer’s time in the military as an air traffic control officer, and his meeting his future wife who is also in the military in the branch of the Air Force. Fischer eventually starts working for Boeing, and receives a kind of spiritual wake up call through a health crisis that culminates in his discovery of his identity of being a Messianic Jewish believer. Not long after, he feels that he is being called by YHVH to return to the land of Israel. He experiences many miraculous signs and portents which he asks for along the way, and also is witness to some physical healing that defies conventional medical wisdom.
Once in Israel, he feels it is his calling to become a business man, and so he does, where “provision” is made in several ways including financially for him to be able to accomplish the tasks that he feels are within the calling he has to accomplish. While often the narrative focuses on Fischer, there are several instances where his wife is also experiencing similar events–one notable one being the ability to pray in tongues. There are also some incredible occurrences involving timing and olive trees and even a physical dove which Fischer alone can see at first but which, the narrative makes clear, actually did exist in physical reality.
The ordeals that the Fischer’s undergo in order to get to Israel are many, and the lifestyle adjustments are not minor ones once they get there. Like any journey, certain things must be sacrificed so other things can be gained. Over all, however, a beautiful story is told about how Fischer is able to integrate both the Jewish aspects of his life with the Christian components. This culminates in his pushing out the information concerning the original Messianic Seal from the Church of James. From this point forward, and somewhat before, Fischer is having to fly between Israel and the United States frequently, in order to teach some about the subject he has uncovered. The Messianic Roots movements of the mid-nineties to early 2000’s certainly felt his influence, and are still feeling reverberations today. Fischer was, perhaps, slightly ahead of his time, since he was earnestly seeking the reconciliation of the Jewish Synagogues to the Early Christian Churches. That kind of healing is a difficult one, since the original break was due to the Messiah Himself. Nonetheless, if one is going to attempt to walk a path with Messiah, there are probably few who have walked it as thoroughly as Fischer.
